Griffith, Ballard & Company was established in 1916 to assist fraternal benefit societies with the
transition to the legal reserve system. Since that time, GBC has evolved to provide a spectrum of actuarial services, with
specialties in management consulting, financial reporting and operations analysis. We pride ourselves in being our clients’
complete actuarial resource – performing the duties of an in-house actuarial department, but without the overhead expense.
Located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, GBC employs four consulting actuaries, two actuarial professionals, two systems engineers
and a two-person support staff with over 230 combined years of insurance industry experience.
Network Microdesigns Corporation is a life insurance systems development company, incorporated in 1982 as the need for
workable and efficient PC-based sales proposals systems arose.
In response to the differing sales and marketing needs of its varied-size life insurance company and fraternal benefit society
clients, Lifebase™ is designed to adapt and evolve at the speed of the marketplace. Working with management, NMC will
develop and deliver a customized, user-friendly system tailored to client specifications, and provide maintenance and updates
as these needs evolve.
NMC is fully owned and supported by Griffith, Ballard & Company, and benefits from the actuarial support provided in the areas
of system design, product analysis, implementation and quality assurance testing.
